During a trip down to Swansea to visit friends, I spent some time birding along the Gower coast. At Bracelet Bay, there were the usual overwintering Med Gulls (at least 10 of them on this occasion). Unfortunately, they seem to have developed a discerning palate over the years and didn't get very excited at the offer of the bargain basement Sommerfield bread we had brought as bait...can't say I blame them really! It only managed to lure them off the beach momentarily before they went off in search of something more tasty. They didn't even land once!
Thankfully we had a bit more success with the Purple Sandpipers at Port Eynon...
The rest of the month was spent photographing some common stuff around Lothian...
...apart for a brief visit to Vane Farm on my way back from Perth one Sunday, where this Little Egret was only the 3rd one I've seen in Scotland.
